At last a Lilly Pilly that is highly psyllid resistant! A superior cultivar of Syzygium Australe, more commonly known as a Lilly Pilly. This unique variety is new to the NZ market and is solely available through Black Bridge Nurseries and Boulevard and Boutique. Selected propagation has improved this variety of Lilly Pilly making it resistant to the very problematic psyllid insect and the damage it causes. Its also faster growing, has a stronger, straighter central leader and an improved root system. We’ve also found it to be good in shady areas as well. Excellent for screening, hedging and shaping. A compact, upright, dense tree with lush emerald green foliage. Easily trimmed so creates a stunning formal hedge. Especially good around the pool, or as a layered hedge in conjunction with Buxus or other small hedging to maintain a formal look. Can also be topiaried as part of the formal garden or in pots. Prefers a moist but well drained soil in sun or part shade. A must have plant as an alternative to Griselinia. Frost tender when young. A small rounded shrub with fresh lime green foliage and small, heavily scented cream flowers streaked with purple. Sun to shade. The shrub assumes a looser more open form when grown in shade. Individuals grown in sunny situations tend to be more compact with denser foliage that is lighter and more yellow green. Prefers humus rich, well drained, slightly acidic soil. Excellent trimmed as a small hedge, left to grow as a stand alone specimen or planted out into a large pot. From the Three Kings Islands, Tecomanthe speciosa is a vigorous climber with large handsome glossy leaves. The large tubular cream flowers are borne in bunches during the winter months. Tui visit flowers for nectar. Frost sensitive but can be grown successfully in colder districts under the shelter of trees. Ideal grown up a terrace pole, strong trellis, up into trees. Takes some years to flower.

Radermachera Everlasting Beauty is a stunning shrub that has glossy, deep green emerald foliage and produces clusters of trumpet shaped, pale pink flowers with yellow throats that are sweetly scented.
