A large, evergreen tree native to New Zealand. It thrives in coastal and lowland forests, reaching heights of up to 20 meters. Its glossy, dark green leaves form a dense canopy, providing shelter for native birds. Puriri produces clusters of tubular pink to red flowers year-round, followed by bright red berries that attract kererū (wood pigeons) and other wildlife.
