- Sophora chathamica ‘Milligold’, commonly known as Weeping Kowhai, is an evergreen native tree from New Zealand. It features deep green foliage and a compact, graceful weeping form. Branches do not have the divaricating (Zig Zag) form and foliage is larger than the smaller microphylla. In spring, it produces masses of bright yellow flowers which makes a spectacular display and also attracts nectar‑seeking birds such as the Tui. ‘Milligold’ prefers well‑drained, moist soil and should not sit in waterlogged areas to avoid root rot. It grows best in full sun or partial shade. Typically reaching 2–4 meters in height and width, it suits courtyards, smaller gardens, and works beautifully as a container specimen.
- Michelia ‘Fairy White’ is an evergreen large shrub or small tree with dark green foliage and a naturally bushy habit. From early spring, it forms long brown buds that open into star‑shaped, pure‑white, fragrant flowers from approximately September to November. - Tangor Ugli, also called the Jamaican tangelo, is a unique citrus hybrid combining grapefruit, orange, and tangerine. Fruit matures from October to December, are easy to peel, juicy and sweet. Although its name sounds unusual, the fruit remains exceptionally delicious. First discovered growing wild in Jamaica between 1917 and 1924, Tangor Ugli has become a popular garden citrus. The tree typically reaches around 3 × 2 metres, making it suitable for small gardens and compact spaces. It grows best in full sun, which supports strong growth and reliable fruiting. This variety prefers fertile, well draining soil rich in organic matter. However, it does not tolerate heavy clay or waterlogged conditions. Because it is a heavy feeder, it benefits from regular citrus fertiliser during spring and summer. Tangor Ugli suits sheltered courtyards, smaller gardens, and even large containers. With the right care, it rewards growers with abundant crops and standout flavour, making it one of the most enjoyable citrus varieties to cultivate.
- Ginkgo biloba ‘Jade Butterflies’ is a compact, deciduous dwarf male cultivar from the Ginkgo family. It forms an upright, vase-shaped structure and grows slowly. Its deeply bi‑lobed, jade‑green leaves resemble butterflies, which inspired its name. In autumn, the foliage transforms into a soft cream‑yellow display. This variety prefers fertile, moist soil; however, it also tolerates compacted, poor, or urban soils though will not tolerate wet soils. It thrives in full sun, which enhances its vibrant yellow autumn colour. Additionally, it withstands coastal salt spray and pollution, making it ideal for urban, seaside, and exposed locations. Mature plants reach approximately 3 x 2 metres. Its compact size suits small gardens, courtyards, or container planting. It requires minimal pruning, though shaping in late winter or early spring works well. The term biloba refers to the two-lobed leaves. Although Ginkgo trees are native to China, ‘Jade Butterflies’ was developed in New Plymouth, New Zealand.
- Sequoia sempervirens, commonly known as the Californian Redwood, is a majestic, fast growing conifer native to the Pacific Coast of North America. Its stately pyramidal form features horizontal branches that slightly droop, while the trunk remains exceptionally straight with thick, rugged bark. These trees thrive in deep, moist, well drained, nutrient rich soils. Because they dislike drying out, its advisable to water them during dry periods, especially when young. Plant in full sun for best results. Californian Redwoods tolerate coastal conditions; however, they do not cope well with harsh winds. They typically grow to around 40 x 12metres yet can exceed 60 metres in ideal environments. Once established, they often grow more than a metre per year, making them an impressive choice for large properties, estates, parks, and reserves
- Salix caprea ‘Kilmarnock’ is a small, deciduous, umbrella shaped weeping tree. Its stiff yellow brown branches hang gracefully and hold small, green serrated leaves that shift to yellow green in autumn. In early spring, large silver grey catkins with bright yellow anthers appear before the foliage. This charming cultivar entered commercial production in 1853, introduced by Thomas Lang of Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, Scotland. Since then, it has remained a popular choice for gardeners. Kilmarnock willow thrives in moist to wet, sunny locations. Because it is hardy and adaptable, it suits small gardens, containers, and areas with poor drainage. The final height depends entirely on the graft point, as all growth weeps downward from that position.

- Cercis canadensis 'Hearts of Gold' is a small, deciduous tree with an open, spreading habit that gradually matures into a broad, rounded crown. In early spring, masses of small magenta, pea-like flowers burst into bloom on bare branches, creating a striking display before the foliage emerges. Soon after flowering, golden yellow, heart-shaped leaves appear, adding light and colour to the garden. Interestingly, The 'Hearts of Gold' redbud was discovered in 2002 by Jon Roethling in a private garden in Greensboro, North Carolina, United States. It was then propagated and introduced to the market by Hidden Hollow Nursery in Tennessee.
