- A compact, multi branched shrub or small tree with lime green leaves turning golden in autumn. Soft fluffy buds open to flowers slightly larger than normal stellata and has more numerous long petals (sometimes to 36). They are also less floppy, resulting in a waterlily-like appearance (hence the cultivar name). Long lasting from apx late July. Ideal for the smaller garden.
- Magnolia stellata – Star Magnolia is a compact, deciduous shrub or small tree with a multi-branched form. In summer, lime-green leaves provide fresh colour, before turning yellow, bronze, or tan in autumn. Soft, fluffy buds open into star-shaped flowers, each with at least 12 delicate white petals. Blooming from late July, these long-lasting flowers add elegance and charm to the garden. Star Magnolia thrives in moist, well-drained soil and prefers full sun to partial shade in a sheltered position. It is ideal for smaller gardens, courtyards, or large pots, where it can be pruned to maintain shape and height. Typically, it grows to around 3.0 x 2.5 metres, making it a versatile choice for compact spaces.
- Lemon ‘Lisbon’ (Citrus limon) is a vigorous, large-growing tree bearing excellent crops of fruit. The lemons are large, with variable seed content & very thick rind. The flesh is very sour & moderately juicy. One of the hardiest lemons, tolerant of both heat & cold. Harvest is generally over the winter months but can also crop late summer. Lemons are heavy feeders so require a soil that can provide adequate nutrients. Feed with Citrus fertilizers.
- Lemon ‘Genoa’ (Citrus limon) - Italian Lemon is a Eureka type thornless lemon. Well-suited to most home gardens as the tree is typically smaller than most other lemons. Bears heavily from an early age, producing large, greenish yellow, very juicy fruit with low seed count. Also known as Genova or Italian Lemon. May bear fruit anytime of the year. Harvest – Jul – Dec. Lemons are heavy feeders so require a soil that can provide adequate nutrients. Feed with Citrus fertilizers. Harvest is during the winter months
- Camellia sasanqua ‘Silver Dollar’ is a compact evergreen shrub that grows smaller in size yet makes a big impact. From autumn into winter, it produces pure white, ruffled double flowers of medium size, adding elegance to the garden. In addition to its blooms, the shrub displays dense, glossy green foliage. Consequently, it is an excellent choice for hedging at various heights. It responds well to trimming and, alternatively, can be shaped into topiaries or grown as a striking specimen. Although camellias originate from China, cultivars like ‘Silver Dollar’ are now bred worldwide. As a result, they are valued for their ornamental appeal and adaptability across different climates and garden styles. For best results, plant in full sun or dappled shade in moist, well-drained acidic soil. Furthermore, pruning after flowering encourages bushier, more compact growth. Typically, this variety reaches around 2.0m tall by 1.5m wide, yet it can grow larger to form an effective screen.
- Camellia japonica ‘Red Red Rose’ is an evergreen shrub with glossy green foliage. New growth shows attractive salmon tips, adding seasonal interest. In early summer, rich red, formal double blooms create a striking display that brightens the garden. Moreover, Japonica camellias are versatile. They make excellent hedges, yet they also shine as stand-alone small trees. Plant them in full sun or shaded areas, ensuring well-drained acidic soil for best results. After flowering, prune to encourage bushy growth. Alternatively, allow the plant to develop into a larger screen. In addition, this camellia can be planted in larger pots and also suits topiary work, offering flexibility for different garden designs
- Camellia sasanqua ‘Early Pearly’ is a moderately fast-growing upright shrub that adds seasonal colour to the garden. Beginning in autumn and continuing through winter, it showcases small, formal double blooms with a soft blush of pink and a subtle fragrance. In addition to its flowers, the plant features dense, glossy green foliage—making it an excellent choice for hedging at various heights. It responds well to trimming and, alternatively, can be grown as a striking standalone specimen. Although camellias originate from China, cultivars like ‘Early Pearly’ are now bred globally for their ornamental appeal and adaptability. For best results, plant in full sun or dappled shade in moist, well-drained acidic soil. After flowering, pruning will encourage bushier, more compact growth. Typically, this variety reaches approximately 2.0m tall by 1.5m wide; however, it can be allowed to grow larger to form an effective screen
- Acer palmatum dissectum 'Lionheart' is a compact, deciduous tree that begins with an upright habit. As it matures, it gracefully spreads outward, forming a beautifully layered silhouette that adds depth and elegance to any garden. In spring, its finely dissected leaves emerge in a vibrant pink-red. As summer arrives, they deepen to maroon, before turning a brilliant scarlet in autumn. This seasonal colour shift creates year-round visual interest. To thrive, 'Lionheart' prefers a sheltered position with moist, well-drained soil. Avoid direct sunlight, as its delicate foliage is prone to sun scorch. With the right care, it remains healthy and vibrant. Reaching approximately 3 x 2 metres, this tree is ideal for smaller gardens, courtyards, or even large pots. Its compact size and stunning foliage make it a standout choice for limited spaces.
- Acer palmatum dissectum 'Crimson Queen' is a stunning deciduous maple that brings a touch of elegance to any garden. With its compact, weeping form and finely dissected foliage, this Japanese maple showcases deep red-purple leaves on striking scarlet-red stems. Notably, it retains its rich colour throughout summer, before transitioning into a fiery scarlet display in autumn. Because of its shape and modest size—reaching approximately 2.0 x 1.5 metres—it’s ideal for smaller gardens, patios, or as a dramatic focal point in a decorative container. Moreover, it thrives best in moist, well-drained soil and prefers a sheltered position out of direct sunlight. This helps prevent sun scorch on its delicate, lacy leaves. Interestingly, the term “dissectum” refers to the deeply cut nature of the leaves, where the lobes are finely divided, often giving them a feathery or lace-like appearance. As a result, 'Crimson Queen' adds a soft gentle feel to any landscape design. Whether you're creating a tranquil courtyard or enhancing a shaded corner, this maple offers year-round beauty with minimal maintenance
