- Rhopalostylis baueri var. cheesemanii – Kermadec Island Nikau Kermadec Island Nikau is a native New Zealand palm from the northern Kermadec Island group. Originating from a warmer climate, it grows noticeably faster than other Nikau varieties. This palm features a more open, umbrella-like form with broader fronds. Each leaflet is slightly spaced, giving the foliage a light, airy appearance that adds a tropical feel to any setting. Over time, it develops a trunk marked with rings from fallen leaves. - Acer palmatum ‘Limelight’ is a small, deciduous Japanese maple with a rounded crown and striking seasonal colour. Its bright green, palmate leaves are divided into five lance-shaped, toothed lobes, flushed with red in spring and turning brilliant yellow orange in autumn. In spring, it produces subtle green flowers followed by winged seed pods tinged with red. This ornamental tree thrives in moist, well-drained soil and prefers a sheltered position away from harsh sunlight and strong winds. Reaching approximately 3 metres tall and 2 metres wide, Limelight is an ideal centrepiece for smaller gardens, courtyards, or large decorative pots—offering year-round interest in a compact form.

Originally developed in England, this variety was introduced by Thomas Rivers’ nursery around 1860. It remains the darkest of the copper beeches, admired for its dramatic foliage and heritage value. It grows to approximately 10 x 5 metres, making it an excellent shade tree for parks, avenues, and spacious landscapes.
- Fraxinus excelsior ‘Purple Spire’, commonly known as Purple Ash, is a deciduous, upright-growing tree with a remarkably even branching structure. Over time, it develops into an oval shape, with a moderate to fast growth rate. Throughout spring and summer, it bears glossy green foliage that transforms into striking shades of purple and orange in autumn, adding seasonal interest. Interestingly, this cultivar was developed in New Zealand, although its Fraxinus parentage traces back to Europe. - Podocarpus henkelii – Henkel’s Yellow Wood is a South African species of Podocarp that forms a compact, upright tree. In spring, new shoots emerge in a striking salmon-pink shade, adding seasonal colour and contrast. Although slower growing, this tree develops into a graceful feature with year-round appeal. The Podocarp family also includes New Zealand’s native Podocarpus totara, making this species a fascinating relative. As an evergreen, 'Moon Maiden' forms a broad-headed canopy, offering excellent shade. Its thick green leaves feature silver-grey undersides, adding visual depth. - Metrosideros excelsa x umbellata ‘Maungapiko’ – Pohutukawa is an evergreen tree native to New Zealand. As a cross between Southern Rata and Pohutukawa, it develops a narrow, upright form with an open habit. Its slender, glossy dark‑green leaves create a striking contrast in any landscape. Bright crimson flowers appear in December and January, slightly later than most Pohutukawa varieties. This cultivar also tolerates frost better than others. Additionally, Maungapiko thrives in coastal conditions and withstand poor soils, drought, and salt‑laden winds.
